I enjoyed the Twilight Series a little, but then there are reasons why it wasn't as good as I was hoping for.

 1. The vampires SPARKLE! I was just like WTF! In the movie and the book, Bella described it as "beautiful", but when I saw the part where Edward takes off his shirt to show Bella why he can't go out into the sunlight, I said, "OMG! Why is there a disco ball in the movie?" If you don't get it then the Cullens and disco balls sparkle. Great comparison, isn't it?

 2. During the whole movie and book, Bella was like,"OMG!OMG! Don't leave me Edward! I know you could kill me so stay away from me but don't leave me!" And since when does that make any sense? She didn't want Edward to kill her, but at the same time, she didn't want Edward to leave. It didn't make any sense!

 3. The movie was O.K., but it would have been better if Kristen Stewert didn't play Bella. I want to be nice about this so I am going to word it as nice as possible..........Kristen Stewert is a wart-looking, mud eating, fat headed, no brained peice of crap who tries to trick people into thinking she is good at acting when in reality, she and everyone around her knows she sucks at it. She never showed any emotion and she acted like she couldn't even remember her lines because whenever she talked, she was talking really slow and she studders all the time.

 4. I personally think it would be creepy having Edward following me around all the time like my own personal stalker. Always asking me every single detail about what has happened to me in my past, always watching me sleep after climbing up the side of my house and sneaking through my window, always watching me wherever I am because I might get hurt and he will want to save me.

 5. The last reason, what's up with Edward having sex with Bella? He knew it could have killed her and I wouldn't care if it was a promise or not. I would have waited until she was a vampire. He knew she could have died but she risked her life any anyway. He always talks about how much he loves her but then he goes off to risk her life! I would never want a boyfriend like that that is always talking about how much he loves me and then going off to risk my life knowing that there is a huge risk that he is going to kill me.

i think you have a right to dislike any of steph's work, but i belive her twilight seires are out of this world! and its not even robert patterson (even though he is quite hot!) that draws you in its the romance and intencaty of the situations, i didnt read mutch until i started thease books, and by chapter two i was hooked, and hooked i stayed until i finished all four books, the film is nothing compared but is good all the same, i wish i could understand why you dont like it?

I dont own a blog but i know how you feel.

I know this because everytime one of the preps marchs up to me and asks me if i like twilight i simply just say no. The thing is they run back to their posse and tell them all about me. Sometimes i end up like how you described "made me want to do something violent", but most of the time i just end up forgetting all about them and going back to being happy

Hi, i dont hate twilight but i dont like it either. Like someone says, the characters are so perfect and not just them but the situations too. Everyboy loves the girl, a father who doesnt give a damn about what her daughter is doing,a vampire that sparkles??... anyway...i know the millions of millions of fans around the world could say this movie is the best ever... but come on!! you have to recognized that this is all about bussines and if Stephanie Meyer gives her permission ( and im pretty sure that it can happen) very soon we will be eating TWILIGHT SOUP!

Twilight is irresponsible!!

With the growing number of copies sold and the newly produced movie based on the book, the Twilight series has stirred up the literature world and entertainment circle with its popularity and fame. So much applauding and cheering heard, has anyone ever pondered on the negative effect the Twilight series may have on our young generations – the future of tomorrow’s world? Has anyone ever questioned our media on where it is leading our young adults to?

As an ordinary mom of a twelve year old daughter, I am very concerned and astonished by the fact that the Twilight series have been promoted among and embraced by young girls with a wide age range from under 10 to up to 20. Even though the author is very effective in setting the story plot and suspense (the whole story is full of rises and falls, enticing readers to continue), I feel it is very much lack of literature beauty. If you look at all the descriptions of the main character, vampire Edward Cullen, it’s basically a pile of pretty words used repetitively. The author simply strings together ornate phrases to promote a so called beautiful image. Even my twelve year old daughter thinks the author is lack of vocabulary in this aspect. And I also think it’s bizarre and offensive to describe a vampire as “godly” and “angle-like”. Not to offend the actor in the movie, but the image of Edward portrayed on the screen – the icy cold and deadly look, the gloomy and shadowy face, etc. – is definitely not the kind of uplifting and bright model we want our young adults imitate and follow. Unfortunately, our media has lured our young people into believing this is called “cool and attractive.”

The lack of literature beauty is also shown in the fact that the books merely use intensive descriptions to stimulate readers’ senses and imagination of possible sexual sensations. Young readers are crazy about this so called “love” story, where as it is not love at all. An analytical look at the two main characters easily tells that it is more of pornographic desire, lust, even though sex is not explicitly and directly depicted. Edward is originally attracted to Bella by her blood, a pure animal attraction. Later, without any foundation, he “fell in love” with her – was it her appearance? We don’t know. The author intends to promote him as a heroic character by describing how hard he tries to refrain him from having sex with Bella. But he controls his desire because he is afraid he ends up tearing Bella apart and eating her flesh and blood. There is no moral lesson taught here. A look at Bella, she is much worse a character for our young adult readers. She is drawn to Edward by his appearance -- telling people outside appearance is more than inside beauty; she does not care that they are not the common type, even when it means forbidden, dangerous, and dark relationship. Is this something we want to teach our children about love? She looks up to Edward in a way that makes herself inferior (he is godly, angel-like, so beautiful…) and she can barely control herself from having sex with Edward -- totally lack of self confidence and lack of self respect, and a victim of lust for pornography. If the Twilight series is trying to tell a love story, it is a VERY UNHEALTHY and dark love relationship, let alone to speak about the later development of a triangle love relation involving vampire, werewolf and human. Unfortunately, young adult readers, especially pre-teens, still have a difficult time separating real life from fantasies, and can easily accept the wrong messages and/or subconsciously follow the wrong models from this book series and the movie.

I give a thumb up to those publishers who have rejected this book, as some of them must have thought about the moral responsibility they shoulder. Our media is a very important educational tool for the mass population, especially our young people who are the future of our world. You are responsible for shaping the future of our world by influencing our children today! It is shocking to see that the Twilight book series have been translated into so many languages and are gaining world-wide attention among young readers, this can only mean one thing: our world is sick! It is the media that can spread the disease or cure the disease. And this is the reason that I would like to share my concerns and my voice, and hope my sharing can raise attention and concerns for our children.

Hahahaha, I hate Twilight too!
It is so nice to meet someone who isn't completely obsessed with that book, and god forbid the movie which sucked and made me wanna seriously injure
I mean they were both equally awful with their same transparent characters who aren't even even very attractive, the creepy, almost bondage-like relationships and the blood-sucking pixies that Stephanie Myer so desperately tried and succeeded to portray as cool.
Honestly, I have no idea in HELL what people thought was so damn cool about it.
Especially all the people who are all like "OMG EDWARD IS SO HAWTTT!!!I WANT TO HAV HIS VAMP BABIEZZ!!"
Oh my god NOBODY CARES!!!
Seriously, and I can't believe I am encouraging this but it's goten way out of control, dump your annoying and dilluded fantasies about a BOOK CHARACTER and go obssess over somebody real like, heaven forbid, The Jonas Brothers or something.

Even though it can be nasty and annoying, especially the second book "New Moon" it can be interesting. and you have to admit that robert Pattinson is at least a little bit cute. Maybe a tiny bit. I mean if you don't like him because he is in twilight, like him because he is in harry potter 4
